I am a second generation therapist who grew up in creative academic households. My first career choice was as a visual artist, reality was literally what you made out of it. I moved to New York City from Texas in my thirties to explore that art world, entered into psychoanalysis and enrolled in a Modern Psychoanalytic institute. I got married and had kids, a very different sense of reality from art school. My comfort with the creative process did come in handy and having kids rooted me in real time. My family moved to Boulder, we adopted a dog and a cat and I finished my education at Naropa University while raising two kids. Naropa added a Transpersonal twist to my Modern Psychoanalytic roots as well as several years of training in mindfulness. Mix all this up into a creative approach that enables clients to become effective in engaging with their own lives.
